Introduction of Talc powder for industrial ceramics:
Talc powder can be used in several applications within the ceramic sector, for example talc is used as filler within technical ceramics, in automotive cordierite ceramics, several tiles and within fireproof ceramics. Further the micro crystalline structure of our talc powder for technical ceramics offers the possibility to use for electrical ceramic applications.
Talc powder is a catalyst in the ceramic industry and has a high temperature resistance. In general, the addition of talc has positive effects to ceramic, for example it increases the mechanical and optical properties of the ceramic material and glazes. Through the addition of talc the properties of the product can be changed and the combustion temperature is reduced. This has a positive effect on the production costs.
In automotive applications, talc is the principal ingredient of the honeycomb component of catalyst supports and gasoline/diesel particulate filters, and it can improve electrical resistance when blended with kaolin.
TALC IN ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY
Talc is a poor conductor of electricity and is thus used in the manufacture of ceramic goods required for the electrical industry. For this purpose talc must be high in purity. Iron oxide should not be more than 1% which would otherwise increase the dielectric constant of the product as well as impart an unattractive color to it.
The CaO should not be more than 1.5% as it would increase the abrasiveness, shorten the vitrification range and sometimes cause shrinkage during high firing. Anand Talc is equipped with powerful magnetic separators to reduce iron impurities. In addition, it boasts of stellar laboratory facilities that ensure tight monitoring of calcium levels, whiteness, brightness to name a few. Thus, it is able to supply high grade talc of uncompromised purity.
